Tournament of Starts Feedback – Discussion of the feedback was tabled until final accounting is available. The Board asked Sandra O’Bannon to send email to club directors regarding reimbursement of “missed” games during the tournament. Based on past precedent, the Unit will offer to reimburse clubs for the average number of tables cancelled during the TOS week.
Slate of Officers and General Business Meeting – The Unit secretary has sent letters to club directors regarding (1) Nominating Committee’s 2019 slate of nominees and (2) procedures for making additional nominations. The letter is to be posted at all clubs. At the general business meeting on Aug. 10, new board members will be elected and Unit awards will be presented. Patsy Gordon reported arrangements have been made to ensure trophies, etc., will be ready on Aug. 10. Patsy was commended for all the work she has done as Chair of the Awards Committee.
Directory Update -- Linda reported that the directory is on track for printing later this summer.
State Tax Exemption Status – Sandra gave an update on the ongoing work to restore the Unit’s tax exemption status. This process is very complicated and Sandra was commended for efforts. Assistance will be provided by other Unit members if possible.
New Business
Reservations for Unit Meetings – To avoid having too many “lunches” purchased for special Unit meetings, the Board recommends that on future sign-up sheets it be stated, “If for any reason you cannot attend, please cancel your reservation as soon as possible.”
Tables -- Carol Kinsey was authorized to purchase 40 addition tables for the Unit.
Susan Ford made a motion to adjourn, Patsy Gordon seconded, motion carried.
