Unit 225 Board Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order at 11:30 by President Linda Harrison.
Roll call was taken. Excused absences were : Tom Spradlin, S. Ramarathnam and
Phyllis Alvarez. All other board members were present.
The minutes of the September 8 board meeting were read and approved with minor
spelling corrections. The motion was made by Carol Kinsey and seconded by Susan
Ford. Motion carried.
The Treasurer's Report was read by Sandra O’Bannon showing a final balance of
$39,225.83. Motion to accept the Treasurer's Report was made by Barbara Bradford
and seconded by JoAnn Zastrovnik. Motion carried.
Old Business: The District 16 Charity games at clubs issue was discussed and resolved
at October special called board meeting. No further action is needed at this time.
The NAP Qualifying game October 6, went very well. We had 10 and a half tables vs. 8
tables last year.
Tournament of Stars Planning: Janie Wolaver reported that there are 62 tables that
need to be replaced. A motion was made by Sandra O’Bannon and seconded by Susan
Ford to have someone research replacement options and possible costs. Janie
Wolaver and Carol Kinsey volunteered to do this. Motion carried.
A report was made by Patsy Gordon regarding the April 2019 Unit Awards Luncheon.
Copies of the IRS tax I D letter were handed out by the treasurer to those who needed
them.
New Business: A report was made by Patsy Gordon regarding the December 14
Christmas Luncheon and Awards. The catering will be by Traditions of Tyler. The
plaques are being engraved. The awards given at this luncheon are for Life Master at
any level. We have 16 Life Master awards so far this year. If anyone knows of any
members that achieve this rank yet this year, please let the committee chair know. A
motion was made by Sandra O’Bannon and seconded by Susan Ford to ask members
to sign up for this occasion, by a specific date to be determined later. Motion carried.
Texas Star Awards: Each Unit can nominate one person in good standing, who has
been a good volunteer. The award is given in Houston at the Texas Star Tournament.
Linda Harrison will send out more information on this procedure and nomination
requirements.
A motion to adjourn was made by Susan Ford and seconded by Patsy Gordon. Motion
carried. Meeting was adjourned at 12:20.
