Unit 225 Board Meeting Minutes
President Linda Harrison called the meeting to order at 11:30. Excused absences were Phyllis Alvarez and Shreedhara Ramarathnam.
The minutes for the February 9, 2019 board meeting were read and corrected. Motion to accept was made by Carol Kinsey, seconded by Barbara Bradford. Motion carried.
The minutes for the March 9, 2019 Board of Directors meeting were read and corrected. Motion to accept was made by JoAnn Zastovnik and seconded by Patsy Gordon. Motion carried.
The minutes for the March 24, 2019 Board of Directors emergency online board meeting were read. A motion to accept was made by Susan Ford and seconded by Janie Wolaver. Motion
carried It was decided that in the future the minutes will be sent out electronically, so board members could review in advance of monthly board meeting.
The treasurer’s report for period ending 3/31/ 2019 was read by Sandra O’Bannon. The final balance was $36,205.36. Motion to accept was made by Tom Spradlin and seconded by Joann
Zastovnik.
The treasurer’s report for period ending 4/30/ 2019 was read by Sandra O’Bannon. The final balance was $43,045.28. Motion to accept was made by Carol Kinsey and seconded by Joann
Zastovnik.
Old Business :
April Award Luncheon— President Linda Harrison commended Patsy Gordon and Shreedhara Ramarathnam on the April awards luncheon for a fine job. There was a brief discussion as to how to handle in the future, reservations that were made and not canceled, incurring a cost to the unit.
Unit 225 Board Election Slate— Election for members of the board for unit 225 will be held in August. President Linda Harrison stated that according to the bylaws, a proposed slate of election officers needs to be sent out by the secretary to every director in the unit, to post for all
membership to view. The nominating committee consists of Tom Spradlin, Chair, and Sandy Hilliard and Sally McAnulty.
The 2019/ 2020 nominees are:
Directory update— President Linda Harrison reported that she had been in contact with Sarah Nieman and the directory is on track.
State Tax Exemption status—The treasurer, Sandra O’ Bannon, reported that she has been in contact with the IRS and is pursuing the resolution of this issue.
Tournament of Stars Regional feedback— The board reviewed a tournament feedback table compiled by Linda Harrison based on multiple parties input. Mike Graham, tournament co-chair, and the board members had a discussion about many positive comments and also areas needing improvement. The final profit/loss outcome is not available due to a few outstanding bills. This discussion was tabled until a later board meeting.
New Business:
Tyler Tournament of Roses—President Linda Harrison reported that everything is on track for the Tournament of Roses in July of this year.
A motion to adjourn by Sandra O’Bannon was seconded by Janie Wolaver. Motion carried.
